The Velykden Pop-Up was a space-planning and design project for Ukrainian Easter (or, in Ukrainian, “Velykden”), organized by the Gadh Foundation in the Spring of 2023. We wanted the space to feel warm and welcoming, celebrating Ukrainian culture with every design decision. With a limited budget, FARMMM achieved a complementary backdrop for a beautiful collection of objects for sale.
Wood displays and wall shelves were inspired by traditional Ukrainian millwork carvings typically used in furniture and exterior home details. The display's modular design allowed for various configurations and programmatic uses. Large suspended-ceiling fixtures and outdoor displays were inspired by hay roofing, typical of Ukrainian vernacular homes.
